COURSE MODULES
Criminal Procedure (E-Learning)
The Criminal Procedure module covers the rules governing a criminal adjudication process. This includes the investigation, charging, bail applications, jurisdictional issues, sentencing as well as procedures in relation to criminal appeal. This subject is primarily a guide to help you understand the aims and nature of Malaysian criminal justice system and the various issues on criminal procedure which governs Malaysian criminal proceedings.
Civil Procedure(E-Learning)
This subject aims to produce practicing lawyers with adequate knowledge of the body of procedural law in Malaysia that sets out the rules and standards for the civil courts when adjudicating civil actions. In this module, you must demonstrate an understanding of the application of these provisions and relevant procedure which governs the various aspects of civil procedure.
Evidence (E-Learning)
You will develop an understanding of the different rules which govern admissibility of evidence in Malaysia in which students are required to apply relevant legal principles in different factual situations. This module also aims to provide you with an understanding of the objectives and principles of the law of Evidence and to relate the same to issues which arise in civil and criminal proceedings.
General Paper (E-Learning)
This module encompasses the study of the law of contract and the law of tort in Malaysia. This module aims to cover the area of the law of contract and how it operates- providing you with an understanding of the basic principles of the drafting of pleadings, legal principles, relevant case laws and a good understanding of the Malaysian Law of Contracts. In addition, this subject also encompasses the study of the law of tort in Malaysia, providing you with an understanding of the basic principles of the drafting of pleadings, legal principles, relevant case laws and a good understanding of the Malaysian Law of Torts.
Professional Practice (E-Learning)
This subject is divided into five different areas. The first two parts will focus on the rules governing the professional conduct of Advocates and Solicitors in Malaysia as well as the professional ethics to be adhered to in legal practice. The third part of this subject would include the application of the principles bankruptcy and winding up in Malaysia. The fourth part of this subject covers the application of the principles of land law in Malaysia and the operation of the Malaysian Torren System. The last part of this subject focuses on the application of the principles of probate and administration of estates and the laws in relation to the drafting of a will in Malaysia.
Lawyer’s Skills (Malaysia) (E-Learning)
This subject is about developing your professional skills, which are both fundamental to developing a career in legal practice and transferable to other professional environments and work situations. It is also about providing you with some practical tools for handling the pressures of legal practice consistently with your ethical and professional responsibilities. You will develop the practical skills needed in order to best serve a client, employers and the legal system by maximising your effectiveness as a lawyer, both personally and professionally. You will also learn strategies and techniques that will assist you in enhancing and developing your professional skills.
Civil Litigation Practice (Malaysia) (E-Learning)

Advocacy (Malaysia)(E-Learning)
This subject aims to equip you with the ability to be able to persuasively put forward your potential client’s position, whether inside or outside the courtroom. Specifically, the subject will look at the following topics:
- ethical rules relating to advocacy
- general principles of good advocacy
- submissions advocacy for interlocutory applications and opening/closing speeches at trial
- trial advocacy: examination-in-chief, witness statements, cross-examination and re-examination, advanced advocacy witness handling, appellate advocacy, and written advocacy in Malaysia.
